AI image tools (ChatGPT, Nano Banana / Gemini) are surprisingly good at stamp artwork — but only when the prompt is right. Vague prompt = decorative picture. Structured prompt = print-ready die artwork. Follow this recipe.
The 5-part prompt recipe
- 1. Shape: "round stamp", "rectangular stamp", "oval stamp" — make the shape the first words.
- 2. Border: "single thin border", "double border", "star border" — tell the AI the frame.
- 3. Text — exactly: Put the exact text that will appear on the stamp in quotes, spelling included: business name, city, phone.
- 4. Layout: "business name curved on top, city curved below, logo space in the centre" — spell out the placement.
- 5. Style constraints: "black and white only, high contrast, no shading, no gradients, flat vector style" — this line matters most. A rubber die only engraves solid areas; gradients do not print.
A complete example
"Round rubber stamp design for 'Al-Karam Traders, Karachi', star border, business name curved along the top, city curved along the bottom, empty circle in the centre for a logo, black and white only, high contrast, flat vector style, no shading."
Regenerate without shame
The first image is never perfect. Check the spelling (AI makes mistakes in text), then regenerate with "same design but fix the spelling of ...". Usable artwork usually arrives within 3–4 tries.
Why clean artwork engraves better
